This illustration was made for a column, het fantastische, in the Volkskrant. The article describes how some artists are obsessed with the sun and their struggle to successfully portray it in their art. Some have even gone mad trying to do this. Finally the article focusses on Olafur Eliasson and the Weateher project he made for the Tate museum.
This illustration was made on A3 sized Bristol board. I used graphite, colored pencils and pan pastels to draw and color everything. Then I scanned the drawing and made some small corrections on the computer. Below you can see the original drawing and the final illustration.
