Here's another illustration I made for the Volkskrant. This is the second illustration for the column they're publishing every week about crazy, over ambitious projects by young designers. Today they published an article about Joost Conijn. This Dutch artist build his own airplane and flew it from Holland to Algeciras. The article describes his time at the art academy, how he realized this project and how he experienced the long, lonely flight to Algeciras.
I drew this illustration on Bristol board with graphite, various pencils and added color on the computer. I had some fun with this one using the "draw with your eraser" technique I use sometimes. Also, I've never drawn an airplane before so that was a nice challenge.
