VIERKWART PARTICIPANTS - Rob Kemerink

Today I'm announcing the second participant for the next VIERKWART exhibition in May. Rob Kemerink is joining us for this spring edition of the expo. You may already know some of his work from the very first exhibition of VIERKWART which we organized last year. I loved the series of animal portraits he made last time, so of course when he wanted to join in again I couldn't say no. I'm curious to see what he's going to make this time. Luckily he's also a good friend of mine, so I'll probably be able to see some of the process for his new illustrations.
Most of Rob's illustrations have a very digital and graphic feel to them but his work still comes alive through the amount of detail he puts into his illustrations. I know he works very secure and is a perfectionist to say the least. Which is important if you make illustrations which are printed on huge format. He currently has an artwork on display in het Schielandhuis in Rotterdam. For the exposition about the history of Rotterdam he made a huge 3 meter high illustration illuminated by light. It's very impressive, be sure to check it out if you're planning to visit Rotterdam.
