Preview for new portrait

This week things have calmed down again and I finally had some time to work on my own drawings. I have a lot of new ideas and things I want to draw, so I've been sketching and doodling a lot lately. The past few days I've been working on a new portrait and I tried out some new tools I bought some time ago.
One of the new things I have is powdered graphite. I have to say it's some really great stuff. I always used to work in a very clean, controlled style. Most of the time I just drew everything with my trusty mechanical pencil. But lately I feel like I need to loosen up more and try new things. So I've been buying a lot of new (rougher) tools like thick chunky pencils, charcoal, pastels and now I bought powdered graphite. It comes in a little paper bag so I put the powder in a jar which I can now re-fill whenever I run out.
And like I said, the stuff is fantastic. It's great for covering large areas without straining your hand too much. You can just brush or rub some of the stuff over your paper. It's also great for loose sketching and shading. Maybe I'll make another tutorial to explain more about it later on, but I need to try some more things first.
For now, here's a little preview of what I'm working on at the moment. I wanted to finish this drawing yesterday, but writing the tutorial took longer than I thought. So now I'm hoping to finish this today. Let's get back to the drawing board!
